EISENTHAL (PA)
(Landsknecht Museterung III: June 13-15, 1996)

Is there no peace? The Landsknecht have returned! The shire of Eisenthal and Der Sonnen Von Krieg once again invite one and all to join us for a weekend of fun and debauchery at the Ukrainian Homestead, R.D. #2, Lehighton, PA 18235. This event will emphasize the weapons of the period (Zwiehander, Greatsword, Polearm) through a three-man great weapon only tournament. Also, the traditional double elimination tournament (open to all weapons forms) will be held. Other pastimes may be pursued at the Archery range, an A&S competition (the codpiece contest returns!), scheduled children's activities, and the merchant's area. There is a swimming pool on site, but no lifeguard, so if the pool is open, swimming will be at your own risk -- all minors (under 18) MUST be accompanied by an adult while in the pool area. The barracks is available for those without tents (open dormitory style housing). Period pavilions will be given special consideration for camping space, by the list field if desired.

Classes will be offered in Landsknecht garb, German camp cooking (open fire), artillery & small arms of the period, battle strategy and tactics and weapons and pike drills by Das Tueffels AlpDrucken Fahnlein, a Landsknecht re-enactment group from Maryland.

The site will open at 4:00 pm on Friday, and close at 3:00 pm on Sunday. A buffet breakfast for Friday's arrivals and a lunch sideboard for all will be offered on Saturday, with a hot breakfast on Sunday morning. Saturday evening will feature a hearty feast (limited to 125 gentles) guaranteed to satisfy the stomachs of the hungriest troops. Alcohol consumed in the hall must be purchased from the Homestead.

Merchants are welcome to ply their wares, and should include request for space with reservation. There is room for merchants both indoors and out.

The cost for this weekend of decadence is well-worth your while: On-board: 2 nights, $20.00; 1 night or day-trip, $12.00; Off-board: 2 nights, $14,00; 1 night or day-trip, $7.00.
