On the last weekend of July, being the 25 - 27, the Shire of Eisental once again invites one and all to join us for a camping weekend of fun , fighting, and archery at the Ukrainian Homestead, R.D. #2, Lehighton, PA 18235 for the Southern Region Warcamp.
This event will emphasize the fighting scenarios from Pennsic 26, as well as the archery and whatever martial activities that is deemed necessary. Yep, it's the same site as last year and it opens at 4:00pm on Friday and closes at 3:00pm on Sunday.
As for other activities, well, there will be scheduled children's activities (both toddlers and teens'), merchant's, a natural tree playground, a swimming pool (NO LIFEGUARD, swim at your own risk-- all minors (under 18) MUST be accompanied by an adult while in the pool area), archery, fencing and court.
Food: A simple dayboard of fruit, cheese, pickles, bread and drink will be offered on Saturday afternoon. NO feast will be offered, but we will be lighting a grill so you are welcome to bring something to cook. If you so choose, there are restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute drive from the site. As for Sunday morning we will be offering a fund raising breakfast for all. Donations to go to the travel fund.
The site offers no handicap access, is wet (well, there are two bars on site open from noon to 4:00am), grills are allowed, but no ground fires. We will have a bardic fire on Saturday night. Camping is encouraged, but there is a hotel on the site available for an extra per night charge. These rooms are first come & paid / first serve. For those that must observe the Sunday, there is a Ukrainian church on site, but please respect the people and attend in modern clothing. Showers are available, but they are the public ones in the pool house.
Merchants are welcome to sell their wares, and should let the autocrat know in advance. There is room for merchants both indoors and out. For those outdoors, you may camp with your wares, or use a picnic table.

From PA Turnpike, NE Extension, take exit 34 (Mahoning Valley) to Rt 209 South, towards Jim Thorpe. At 2nd light (Caruso's Restaurant), 209 South makes a Right turn. From this light, continue for 2.1 miles (ignore the first "Ukrainian Homestead" sign) and make a Left turn at the sign for "Flagstaff." (The sign is on the left side of the road) Follow this road (Beaver Dr.) for 1.7 miles, Ukrainian Homestead will be on your Left.
From I-81: Take exit 27 (Hometown/Mahanoy City) onto Rt 54 East, through Hometown to Nesquehoning. At the Monument landmark, bear Left and continue on Rt 209 North 4.9 miles to Jim Thorpe. At the 2nd light, make a Left and continue on Rt 209 North for 1.6 miles and turn Right at the top of the mountain (at the Mountainside Family Restaurant). At the stop sign, go straight for 1.3 miles and the Ukrainian Homestead will be on your Left.
