Athena's Thimble Collegium

The sheep have been shorn, the crops harvested and preparations for winter
are underway. Now is the time to prepare for the winter months, which
will be devoted to the making of cloth and garments for our families,
filled with spinning, weaving, sewing and embroidery. To that end, on
November 4th, the Shire of Eisental is pleased to host the Athena’s
Thimble Collegium. Join us for a day dedicated to the art of the needle.
Classes will be taught from beginner level through advanced. To expand
upon the day, there will also be a track of classes dedicated to the fiber
arts such as spinning and weaving. There will be time at the end of the
day for panels to discuss your projects. A class schedule and additional

The site is Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 1343 Long Lane Rd. Kutztown, PA
19530. It has a rich history and magnificent architecture. There is a
quilting shop nearby for anyone interested. The site opens at 9:00 am
with classes beginning at 10am and ending at 5pm. To sustain you through
the classes, a simple and hearty lunch will be served midday.
The Shire of Eisental has had a prosperous year, and so we are pleased to
announce that there will be no site fees for this event. The vote was
held after the Pikestaff deadline, any reservations checks received in the
meantime will be held and returned to you at Troll. We would still ask
that you pre-register as it help us to plan lunch accordingly. The site
has a nursery, which will be available for parents to use with their
children. Please include full mundane and SCA names as well as ages of any
children and requests for crash space with your reservation.
